THE NIGHTS OF Lailat-ul-Qadr

Lailat-ul-Qadr - The night of Power
Contributed by: Meetha Madina Group
Additions by: Maulana Ghulam Subhani

In this night (27th of Ramadan), the Holy Quran was sent down from LOH-E-MEHFOOZ (the Preserved Tablet) to the earth. Messenger of ALLAH (Blessings of Allah and peace be on him) told us to search for Shab-e-Qadr in the odd numbered nights, in the last ten days of Ramzan. So, the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th night of Ramadan could be Shab-e-Qadr.

Hazrat Aisha Radiallah Anha stated that Rasool Allah peace be upon him said,
"Look for Lailat-Ul-Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadhan." (Bukhari)

Hazrat Aisha Radiallah Anha stated that as much Rasool Allah peace be upon him tried (Ibadat) in the last Ashra (ten days) of Ramadhan, did not try in any of the Ashra." (Muslim)

Hazrat Aisha Radiallah Anha stated that I asked Rasool Allah peace be upon him, "If I find Lailatul Qadar then what should I do? HE peace be upon him said, recite this Dua."ALLAH HUMMA INNAKA A’FUVUN TOHIB BUL AFVA FA’AFU ANNI" (Tirmidhi)

Dear visitors, please take advantage of this night, from sunset till sunrise. Offer nawafil (prayers), recite QUR'AAN, do repent (Istaghfar), and Pray for pardon, recite many many Salawat (Darood Sharif & Salaam) and make benediction (Dua'as).

Special DU’AA of Lailatul QADR:
"ALLAH HUMMA INNAKA A’FUVUN TOHIB BUL AFVA FA’AFU ANNI" (Tirmidhi)
"O Allah! You are the Forgiver and You like forgiving so forgive me”

fazilat of Salatul Tasbih ki nammaz

Salatul Tasbih
For forgiveness of All Sins

Benefits of Salat-Ul-Tasbih
Our Beloved Prophet Mohammed (Sallallaho Alihiwassallam) said to his uncle (father’s brother) Sayyiduna Abbass (may Allah be pleased with him) Oh uncle shall I not give you Shall I not grant you Shall I not award you Shall I not do mercy on you When you do 10 things Allah will forgive your sins: of the future and of the past; new and old; those you have forgotten and those you did knowingly; big and small; hidden and revealed. Then he (Sallallaho Alihiwassallam) explained the taught the way to pray Salatul Tasbih and then said if you can pray this salah once a day, if you can not pray once a day then every Friday, and even if this is not possible then once a month and even if this is not possible then once a year and even if this is not possible then at least once in a lifetime (Abu’Dawood & Tirimzi)

How to perform Salatul Tasbih?
This salaat (namaz) is offered in four rakat at a time and can be read in any part of the day and night besides Zawal and Sunrise and Sunset makrooh times, keeping in mind the forbidden times for performing Salat (namaaz). But is is preferred before Zuhr (Fatawa Alamgeeri)

MAQFIRAT-TAWBA and Namaaz-e-Ghufayla.

MAQFIRAT-TAWBA (REPENTENCE)and Namaaz-e-Ghufayla.

(1) Recite
“Astaghfirullaah Rabbee Wa Atoobu Ilayh” as many times as possible, with sincerity.

(2) Try your best to wake up early before dawn to pray
Namaaz-e-Tahajjud (Shab). There are fourty plus advantages in it.

(3) At any time pray two rak’at Namaaz, niyyat –
Namaaz-e-Afw: In each rak’at recite Surah-e-Qadr after Al-Hamd and then recite fifteen times “Rabbee Afwaka”, then go in Rukoo, after its zikr recite ten times “Rabbee Afwaka”, then before going in Sajdah recite ten times “Rabbee Afwaka”, then in the Sajdah recite it ten times after its zikr, then in between two Sajdah again recite it ten times, then in the second Sajdah recite ten times the same, then before standing for the second rak’at recite ten times the same (Rabbee Afwaka), and pray the same way during the second rak’at also.

(4) Perform Sunnat ghusl, do Wudhoo, and recite
Ziyarat of Bibi Fatima (S.A.) and then recite Istighfaar, or any Duaa for repentance. (ref. Mafaatihul Jinaan)

Fazilat of The Night of Power (Al-Qadr)

The Night of Power (Al-Qadr)

Surat 97 of the Qur’an
Revealed before the Hijrah. This chapter has 5 verses.

“In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

1. We have indeed revealed this (Message) in the Night of Power:
2. And what will explain to thee what the Night of Power is?
3. The Night of Power is better than a thousand Months.
4. Therein come down the angels and the Spirit by Allah’s permission, on every errand:
5. Peace! ... This until the rise of Morn!”

The Night of Power, or “Laylat ul-Qadr” as it is known in Arabic, is one of the most significant moments of the Islamic year. Muslims believe that groups of angels are sent out on the Night of Power to perform special purposes. Some come down to earth to worship Allah, others come to bring about the requests of believing Muslims. Special angels are also said to descend to earth to make proclamations about the coming year. This night is also called the “Night of the Decree or Destiny” by some.

Laylatul Qadr is holiest of all nights

Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Power) holiest of all nights

Muslim scholars believe that while the Qur'an was revealed over a period of 23 years the Night of Power is considered the night in which the first revelations of Islam and the prophethood of Muhammed began. This night is in celebration of the arrival of the Qur'an.

In Arabic, Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Power) is described in the Qur'an as, “better than a thousand months” (Sura 97:3). Al-Qadr means power and implies having power over something, particularly to Allah. The character of Allah is excellence in power, capable, all powerful, almighty. It also implies ‘high esteem’ and thus the Night of Power is to be highly esteemed.

When does it occur?

It is often a point of debate among Muslim scholars as to when exactly the Night of Power occurs. Some scholars say that this night is hidden. Some say it occurs on either the 1st, 7th or 19th night of Ramadan. However, there is strong evidence that the night occurs during the last 10 days of Ramadan, specifically on odd numbered nights. In a report by Bukhari, Muhammed said, “Seek it on the odd nights of the last 10 days of Ramadan.” In Hadith by Ubayy bin Ka’ab, Muhammed also said, “By Allah, I know which night it is. It is the night the Messenger commanded us to observe, the night of the 27th.”

The Night of Power

Laylatul Qadr

The Night of Power or Destiny is an extremely important night for Muslims. It is the night in which our code of guidance, the Holy Quran, was revealed from the Lord of the Universe to Prophet Muhammad. The Quran was revealed in Ramadan (2:185), and traditionally Muslims celebrated the Night of Power on the 27th night of Ramadan.

God describes this night as better than a thousand months. During that night, the angels and the Spirit descend therein, by God’s leave, to carry out every command (97:1-5).

Because the Night of Power is such a special night, those Muslims (Submitters) who want to gain extra credit of righteousness spend the night by commemorating God the Almighty either in their privacy or in a mosque with other Muslims. There are also some Muslims who retreat to a mosque in the last ten days of Ramadan to take advantage of God’s blessings further and increase their faith of submission.

THE USE OF ELECTRICITY
And We made a fount of molten copper flow out for him. (Qur'an, 34:12)

One of Allah's great blessings to Prophet Sulayman (as) was "a fount of molten copper." This can be understood in several senses. By the use of melted copper, it may be referring to the existence, at his time, of an advanced technology that employed electricity. We know that copper is one of the best metals for conducting electricity and heat, and thus constitutes the basis of the electrical industry, which uses much of the copper produced in the world. The expression "flow out" may indicate that electricity can be used in many fields. (Allah knows best.)

Zakaah al-Fitr ki fazilat

1. MEANING
Zakaah al-Fitr is often referred to as Sadaqah al-Fitr. The word Fitr means the same as Iftaar, breaking a fast and it comes from the same root word as Futoor which means breakfast. Thus, Islamically, Zakaah al-Fitr is the name given to charity which is distributed at the end of the fast of Ramadaan.

2. CLASSIFICATION
Sadaqah al-Fitr is a duty which is Waajib on every Muslim, whether male or female, minor or adult as long as he/she has the means to do so.

The proof that this form of charity is compulsory can be found in the Sunnah whereby Ibn `Umar reported that the Prophet (sallallaahu `alaihi wa sallam) made Zakaah al-Fitr compulsory on every slave, freeman, male, female, young and old among the Muslims; one Saa` of dried dates or one Saa` of barely. [collected by Bukhari - Arabic/English, vol. 2, p. 339, no. 579]

The head of the household may pay the required amount for the other members. Abu Sa'eed al-Khudree said, "On behalf of our young and old, free men and slaves, we used to take out during Allaah's Messenger's (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) lifetime one Saa` of grain, cheese or raisins". [collected by Muslim - English transl. vol. 2, p. 469, no. 2155]

Laylatul-Qadr ki fazilat

It is the month of the Night of Immense Worth (Laylatul-Qadr). A large number of the commentators have said that deeds done on that night are better than the deeds of 1,000 months which do not contain a Night of Immense Worth. Ibn al-`Imad said: "We have sent it down on the Night of Immense Worth" indicates that the night is better than the day. A thousand months add up to 83 years and four months, or 30,000 days and 30,000 nights.

Ibn `Abd al-Salam said in his Qawa`id (Rules): "The good deed (al-hasana) on that Night is better than 30,000 good deeds on another." Abu Bakr al-Warraq said: "Solomon's kingdom was five hundred months, and Dhu al-Qarnayn's kingdom was five hundred months, and God has made the deeds done during that night outweigh both kingdoms."

Aitikaf Ke Fazilat

Fazilat of Laylatul Qadr

The month of Ramadan is a speacial month in the Islamic calendar. This is the month that the Holy Qur’an was revealed to Prophet Muhammad pbuh.
Among the nights of Ramadan is a very special night.

The night of Laylatul Qadr or else The Night of Power.

Allah swt tells us in the Holy Qur’an , surah 97

97:1 Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Decree.
97:2 and what make you know what is the night of Decree?

97.3 The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.

97.4 The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.

97.5 Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.

Indeed Laylatul Qadr is a very blessed night. And any one that misses it, has missed out a great deal. Every one of us should seek Laylatul Qadr in the last ten days of Ramadan and we should spent those nights in increased prayer.

fazilath of Shab-e-Baraat, Laylatul-baraa’h

The auspicious Night on the 15th of Shaban, known as Lailat-ul-Baraat, and popularly known as Shab-e-Barat in this sub-continent, is indeed a glorious and important occasion in the life of every God-fearing Muslim. Both the words `Lailat’ in Arabic and `Shab’ in Persian mean `Night’, and `Baraat’ stands for `Salvation’ or `Privilege’. It is on this auspicious Night of Privilege or Night of Salvation that Benign Providence, in His infinite Mercy, blesses each and every human being with a unique opportunity to receive the most coveted Divine Mercy.

Acclaimed traditionalist Ibn Maja (his Sunan is universally accepted as one of the Sihah Sitta, the six authentic traditional works) reported on the authority of no less a person than Sher-e-Khuda Hazrat Ali (R.A.) that the holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

HADITH ON FASTING

Abu Huraira related that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever fasts during Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. Whoever prays during the nights in Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. And he who passes Lailat al-Qadr in prayer with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven (Bukhari, Muslim).

  • Abu Huraira related that Rasulullah said: If anyone omits his fast even for one day in Ramadan without a concession or without being ill, then if he were to fast for the rest of his life he could not make up for it (Bukhari).

THE QURAN ON FASTING

“O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious).

(Fasting) for a fixed number of days, but if any of you is ill or on a journey, the same number (should be made up) from other days. And as for those who can fast with difficulty, (i.e. an old man, etc.), they have (a choice either to fast or) to feed a poor person (for every day). But whoever does good of his own accord, it is better for him. And that you fast, it is better for you if only you know.” (2:183-84)

Quraan and hadith on Mothers

The Quran

1. "We have enjoined on man kindness to his parents; in pain did his mother bear him, and in pain did she give him birth" (46:15).

2. "Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but Him, and that ye be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honor. And out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: ‘My Lord! bestow on them Thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood' "(17:23-24).

3. "We have enjoined on man and woman kindness to parents; but if they (either of them) strive (to force) thee to join with Me anything of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not'" (29:8).

You Can Do 10 Things For Your Mom

Often, moms do virtually all of the giving and very little, if any, of the taking from their families. They may not say it, but most of them want to be appreciated in small ways. You don't have to buy them a car or a house (you could do that too), but it's the small things that count with mom.

Here are some ideas of how you can let mom know that all of her giving has and continues to be appreciated.

1. Give mom a vacation

Don't think Hawaii. Think of a day away from the kitchen. Or the home. Give her a vacation from the home where for her, most of the seemingly endless housework is done daily. Or, if she doesn't want that, start doing your share around the house. Maybe you could start giving her one day of the week off, when she does no cooking or household chores. Remember, fathers and husbands work hard at the office, but they get a two-day weekend in most cases. Moms usually don't even get a full day off. And if they are also working outside, it's like two full time jobs.

The Quran and Hadith on Ramadan

THE QURAN ON FASTING

"O you who believe!

And that you fast, it is better for you if only you know." (2:183-84)

"The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan), he must fast that month, and whoever is ill or on a journey, the same number (of days which one did not fast must be made up) from other days.

What is Zakat?

What is Zakat?
Zakat is an obligatory duty and one of the five pillars of Islam. It is mandatory when two conditions are simultaneously satisfied which are Nisab and the Due Date.

What is Nisab and its current value?
Nisab is the exemption limit for the payment of Zakat. In other words, it is the amount which savings or capital or product must exceed in order for the Muslim owner to be obliged to give zakat. Nisab amount calculated based on 3 oz of pure Gold which is $2,580.00 as of 8/24/2009.

When is Zakat due date?
Zakat is due after one Lunar (Hijri) year starting from either the first day you acquired the amount of Nisab or the day you paid Zakat last year. The month of Ramadhan is considered to be the best time to pay Zakat.

We urge you dear brother/sister to calculate your Zakat now and to pay it as soon as possible

Topic of 22nd Ramzaan

Believers are modest from the heart:

One of the most important conditions of faith is modesty. A verse in the Qur’an reads: "The people who truly do believe in Our signs are those who fall to the ground prostrating when they are reminded of them, and glorify their Lord with praise, and are not arrogant" (Surat as-Sajda, 15). Believers are constantly aware that Allah does not love anyone who is vain or boastful, therefore they are always modest.

The morality of Islam entails submission to Allah, and submission entails acknowledgement of one's weaknesses. Believers, who recognise that everything belongs to Allah, and that they themselves are weak and in need of Him, also act modestly towards Allah's other faithful servants. Being arrogant is contrary to faith, and the Messenger of Allah (saas) tells the believers to be humble and to treat each other like brothers in a hadith:

The Miracles of Quraan

THE CITIES OF SODOM AND GOMORRAH

A photograph of the Dead Sea

The Prophet Lut (as) lived at the same time as the Prophet Ibrahim (as) and was sent as a Messenger to a neighbouring tribe to the Prophet Ibrahim (as). That tribe, according to the Qur'an, practiced a perversion never before seen in the world: homosexuality. When the Prophet Lut (as) told the people to abandon one of the greatest sins and delivered to them the message of Allah, they rejected him. They denied that he was a Prophet and continued with their horrid lifestyle. As a result of this, the tribe was destroyed in a terrible disaster by Allah.

And Lut, when he said to his people, "Do you commit an obscenity not perpetrated before you by anyone in all the worlds? You come with lust to men instead of women. You are indeed a depraved people." (Qur'an, 7:80-81)

We rained down a rain upon them. See the final fate of the evildoers! (Qur'an, 7:84)

[Our Messengers said to Lut,] "We will bring down on the inhabitants of this city a devastating punishment from heaven because of their deviance." We have left a Clear Sign of them behind for people who use their intellect. (Qur'an, 29:34-35)

The Test of ALLAH

man is being tested:

God has created everything according to His divine wisdom, and has rendered many things to man's service. Clearly, many things in the universe, from the solar system to the ratio of oxygen in the atmosphere, from the animals that provide us meat and milk to water, have been created to serve man. If this fact is recognized to be evident, it follows that it is illogical to think this life has no purpose. Definitely, there is a purpose to this life, explained by God as follows:I only created jinn and man to worship Me. (Surat adh-Dhariyat: 56)Only a minority of humanity understand this purpose of creation and lead their lives thereby. God has granted us life on earth to test whether or not we will conform to this very purpose. Those who sincerely serve God, and those who rebel against Him, will be distinguished from one another in this world. All those blessings (his body, senses, property...) given to man in this world, are a means by which God tests him. In a verse of the Qur'an, God relates the following:We created man from a mingled drop to test him, and We made him hearing and seeing. (Surat al-Insan: 2)

Topic of the day (20th ramazan)

Islam: The true religion

Where am I coming from, where will I go? What is the meaning and purpose of my life? What is death like? Is it certain that there is life after death? Do Paradise and Hell exist? What is the origin of life? Where is our Creator? What does the Creator demand from us? How can I discern between right and wrong? Where do I find the answers to these questions?…

For ages, people have sought answers to these crucial questions, given serious thought to them and discussed them thoroughly. Yet, contrary to what is generally believed, in all ages, the most reliable answers to these questions have been provided, not by the philosophers, but by the "true religion" which is the revelation of God.

Many religions have attracted adherents throughout the world-Buddhism, shamanism and paganism to name but a few. However, none of these were the revelation of God. Therefore, they were nothing more than a philosophy or a movement. Some, having merely a symbolic or cultural meaning, provided no social or psychological solutions to problems. Those who developed these religions, too, thought over these crucial questions, yet they could never find reliable answers.

Nevertheless, there are some "righteous religions" which have to be evaluated separately from these false religions. The most important feature of righteous religions, which distinguishes them from false religions, is their origin: they all have their roots in revelation. God informs mankind in the Qur'an about the superiority of the religion of truth over all other religions, philosophies or sociological systems:

The outlook of believers on the life of this world

The outlook of believers on the life of this world

"The life of the world is nothing but a game and a diversion. The abode of the hereafter—that is truly Life, if they only knew it." (Surat al-'Ankabut, 64)

Allah has created this world as a temporary place to put man to the test, to purify him of his wrongdoings, to make him attain a soul worthy of paradise and to reveal the evil of disbelievers… Very few people, however, ponder upon and grasp this truth: it is they who are the people of faith.

The outlook on life of a believer who has attained faith is based on this very important fact which is stressed in the Qur'an. Unlike disbelievers, such a person does not feel attached to the life of this world. On the contrary, he strives for the life in the hereafter. Aware that he is created "to serve Allah alone", he remembers the verse, "I only created jinn and man to worship Me." (Surat adh-Dhariyat, 56)

The miracles of Quraan

RAINS WHICH BRING A DEAD LAND BACK TO LIFE

The rain's function of "bringing a dead land back to life" is indicated in several verses of the Qur'an:

We send down from heaven pure water so that by it We can bring a dead land to life and give drink to many of the animals and people We created. (Qur'an, 25:48-49)

The Light Of The Qur’an Has Destroyed Satanism

The Light Of The Qur’an Has Destroyed Satanism

This book examines satanism in all its aspects. How can a philosophy that turns violence and horror into a religious ritual and bloodshed into an act of worship be so widespread?

This book shows that the starting point of satanism is opposition to religious morality: Those who support this perversity have been brought up outside the practice of religious morality and been influenced by materialism. In fact, satanism is widespread and has an influence on young people particularly. But it is quite wrong to think that nothing can be done about it.

Ramadhan – Month of Qur’an

‘The month of Ramadhan in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion.’[Qur'an Al-Baqarah: 185]

"If Allah helps you, none can

the believers put their trust" [Qur'an-Ale-Imran: 160]

‘Do they not then consider the Qur’an carefully? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found therein much contradiction.’[Qur'an An-Nisa: 82]

‘So, when the Qur’an is recited, listen to it, and be silent that you may receive mercy.’ [Qur'an Al-A’raf: 204]

‘And this Qur’an is not such as could ever be produced by other than Allâh [Lord of the heavens and the earth], but it is a confirmation of [the revelation] which was before it [i.e. the Taurât (Torah), and the Injeel (Gospel), etc.] and a full explanation of the Book [i.e. laws and orders, etc., decreed for mankind] - wherein there is no doubt from the Lord of the 'Alamîn [mankind, jinns and all that exists]. Or do they say: "He [Muhammad (saw)] has forged it?" Say: "Bring then a Sûrah [chapter] like unto it, and call upon whomsoever you can, besides Allâh, if you are truthful!"’ [Qur'an Yunus: 37-38]

‘Verily, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’an in order that you may understand. We relate unto you [Muhammad (saw)] the best of stories through Our Revelations unto you, of this Qur’an. And before this [i.e. before the coming of Divine Inspiration to you], you were among those who knew nothing about it [the Qur’an].’ [TMQ Yusuf: 2-3]

Khadijah (r.a.) - wife of Rasulullah (saw)

Hadhrat Khadija (radhiAllaahu anha) was the first wife of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and she was the mother of Hadhrat Faatima (radhiAllaahu anha) and she was the Nani (maternal grandmother) of Hadhrat Hassan and Hussein (radhiAllaahu anhuma). Her father’s name was Khuwailid, her paternal grandfather’s name was Asad, her mother’s name was Faatima, and her maternal grandmother’s name was Zaahida. She was a Quraishi. She married Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), when she was 40 years of age. At that time Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was 25 years old.

Prior to her coming into Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam)’s Nikah, she was married to two other persons, one after the other. She bore children for both of them. One of her previous husband’s name was Abu Haala, and the other was Ateeq bin Aa`id. There is a difference of opinion between the historians, regarding which husband was the first and which was the second. The author of “Isti`aab”, has preferred the opinion that Abu Haala was the first and Ateeq bin Aa`id was the second.

HOW SHE CAME INTO THE SANCTUARY OF NABUWWAT

After Hadhrat Khadija (radhiAllaahu anha)’s two husbands passed away, one after the other, many noble persons were hopeful of marrying her owing to her honour, respect and wealth. However, what had happened was the desire of the Greatest, Allaah Subhaanahu Wa Ta`ala. Allaah Ta`ala had decreed that Hadhrat Khadija (radhiAllaahu anha) be honoured with marriage to the best of Mankind (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). And that she be blessed with the title of “Ummul Mu`mineen” (Mother of the Believers).

Saudah (r.a.) - wife of Rasulullah (saw)

Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) married Hadhrat Aisha (radhiAllaahu anha) and Hadhrat Saudah (radhiAllaahu anha) in the same year, when Hadhrat Khadija (radhiAllaahu anha) passed away. There is a difference of opinion in the kitaabs of history regarding who he (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) married first. However, Haafiz Ibn Katheer (rahmatullahi alaihi) states in ‘Bidaya’, from Imaam Ahmed (rahmatullahi alaihi) that Hadhrat Aisha (radhiAllaahu anha) said the following regarding Hadhrat Saudah (radhiAllaahu anha): “She was the first person to whom Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) got married to after me.”

This incident of how Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) proposed to both these ladies has already passed in the chapter of Hadhrat Aisha (radhiAllaahu anha). Hadhrat Khaulah binti Hakeem (radhiAllaahu anha) had a great share in this proposal (for details look under Hadhrat Aisha (radhiAllaahu anha) - Nikah).

O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I don't know whether, after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you carefully and take this words to those who could not be present here today.

HUZUR AKRAM SALLALLAHU ALIHI WASALLAM

Introduction:
Allah subhanahu wa t’ala has made seeking knowledge a most virtuous act of ibadah. There is a hadith which states: ‘Whoever goes forth to seek knowledge, Allah facilitates their journey to Jannah.’ The most virtuous type of knowledge is knowledge of the Deen that is, knowledge of Allah and His Prophet salAllahu alayhi wasallam. One of the benefits mentioned is that even the fish in the oceans seek forgiveness for those who are seeking knowledge. We ourselves cannot perceive this but the creation of Allah respond to His servants. Allah has said in the Qur’an (meaning of the translation): Remember me, and I will remember you.’Imam Qurtubi comments on this verse: ‘Any act of ibadah is an act of remembrance.’So why is it unusual for the fish to seek forgiveness for someone seeking knowledge when this seeking of knowledge is an act of remembrance?
